Chaktrang Chess(Chess = Ouk) is most probably played in Cambodia for a long time, as it is depicted in several reliefs found on the Angkor temples which date from the XIIth century Also, they were attested by Marco Polo : in 1285, he went to "Cyamba" which is Champa, a Kingdom located in South Vietnam. His book says : "Il y a olifans assez en ce royaulme et si ont aussi lingaloes assez et si ont moult grant planté de grans bois et si ont fust noir que l'en appelle ybenus et dont l'en fait les eschiez noirs." (There are elephants in this realm and they also have a lot of aloe wood and they have black wood named ebony from which black chess are made). Chinese chess which is used today in Vietnam (Tuo-cong) did not used ebony pieces, then it is very likely that Marco Polo saw a cousin of the Cambodian Chess. Reference Link
Chaktrang Chess is a board game for 1 vs 1 that controls chess pieces to attack the opponent.
Strategy is the key to victory, so it has been a popular game for improving our thinking ability and intelligence.
It has 6 kinds and 16 total pieces at the start of the game for each side.
Pawn, Queen, Bishop, Knight, Rook, and King have different talents to move on the board.
It is not easy to get the victory from your opponent (the king cannot take away from the board),
you have to use your technique to move until you arrest the king. Generally,
the rule for finishing the game has two types: lose draw, and win. For Chaktrang Chess,
the game will convert the draw to a half win by making your opponent impossible to move (stuck) or opponent successfully escape.
To get the total victory, you have to check the enemy king (the king can’t move or assist by another piece)
while chased by the opponent. To get the total victory, you have to check the enemy king
(the king can’t move or assist by another piece) while chased by the opponent.
